Hyundai Canada recognizes Mississauga Hyundai as its 'number one' dealership
MARKHAM, ON, Jan. 23, 2014 /CNW/ - Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. today presented
an award to Mississauga Hyundai for the dealership's exceptional sales and
fundraising performance in 2013. With sales of 1,990 vehicles and $22,063
raised in support of the national Hyundai Hockey Helpers (HHH) initiative,
Mississauga led all Canadian Hyundai dealerships in both metrics.
"Mississauga Hyundai's accomplishments in 2013 demonstrate that sales success
and community engagement truly go hand-in-hand," said Steve Kelleher,
President and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. "The dedication of partners
like [Dealer Principal] Nav Bhatia and his Mississauga dealership has helped
cement Hyundai's position as a leader in the Canadian automotive industry.
This challenging spirit is reflected in every Hyundai vehicle and every
Hyundai dealer across Canada."
Mississauga Hyundai's year-end sales total of 1,990 new vehicles represents an
increase of 5 percent over their 2012 result. In second and third place by
total 2013 sales volume were Quebec dealerships Hyundai Gabriel (Montreal) and
Hyundai de Mascouche who ended the year with sales of 1,965 and 1,769
vehicles, respectively.
The $22,063 raised by Mississauga Hyundai in support of Hyundai Hockey Helpers
will be used to help deserving children in the Mississauga area play hockey
this year. With an incredible 47-percent increase over their 2012 fundraising
result, Mississauga Hyundai was the country's top fundraising dealership for
the second consecutive year. Run in partnership with KidSport, the HHH program
provides grants to deserving kids nation-wide to subsidize the cost of hockey
equipment and league registration fees. In 2013, Hyundai Canada and its
network of 210 dealerships donated an estimated $1-million to provide grants
for the 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 seasons.
Karl Subban, Hyundai Hockey Helpers Ambassador and father of Montreal
Canadiens Defenceman P.K. Subban, expressed his gratitude for the dealership's
efforts: "It's rewarding to see a local business giving back to the community
in such a profound manner. In addition to the positive health benefits of
physical activity, organized sport teaches important lessons about teamwork,
commitment, and the value of hard work. Thanks to the efforts of dealerships
like Mississauga Hyundai, the HHH initiative is investing in future of
children across Canada."
