The Brazilian Association of Electricity Distributors (Abradee) exists to
facilitate the relationship between power utilities and other agents and
entities operating in the Brazilian energy sector. There are 41 associated
utilities, spread in all regions of the country and that account for over 99%
of the Brazilian market.
Headquartered in Brasilia, Abradee has, among its duties, to provide support
to its members in the technical, regulatory, commercial, economic, financial
and institutional areas, as well as to articulate and defend the interests of
the power distribution sector.
Studies and surveys conducted by the Association have great impact in the
market; a highlight is the annual execution of a national survey in which the
degree of customer satisfaction with the quality of services provided by
distributors is measured. Additionally, an award is given to the power
utilities that stand out in the examined categories.
Abradee has a significant role, participating in the regulatory process of the
new model of the electricity sector and coordinating the projects of drafting
and revision of technical standards related to electricity distribution.
