Luca Galbusera,  an Italian  Designer is  the Winner  of #Concrete  In  Design 

Luca Galbusera , a 30-year-old Italian designer,is the winnerof #Concrete In
Design , the international contest promoted by Italcementi and Alessi,opento
young professionals  interested in  experimenting with  new expressive  shapes 
using EFFIX,  a high  performance material  conceived by  Italcementi 
ideal for giving shape to the creativity of designers.

The winning entry, entitled "Omaggio all'artigiano" (Homage to the artisan)  - 
W ishes to emphasize the importance of  the artisan, understood not only as  a 
person with his or her own activity, but, in particular, as a custodian of his
or her own art. A worker who is essentially a full time operator of his or her
own discipline," this is how Luca  Galbusera presented his project during  the 
selection phase.

Born in 1984 and educated at the Design Faculty of the Milan Politecnico, Luca
Galbusera  works  in  the  field  of  interior  design  partnering  with  both 
businesses and private individuals.In February  2014, he will be  facilitated 
by i.lab, Italcementi's Research and  Innovation Centre, to attenda  workshop 
organized by LPWK Design  Studio, owned by Laura  Polinoro, who for years  has 
been  working  with  Alessi  on  organising  design  workshopsall  over   the 
world.During the workshop at  i.lab, the project will  be examined in  detail 
and perfected so at to  obtain a new design  piece to be possiblyincluded  in 
Alessi's future collection.

The mock-up of the winning project will be displayed on 21 March at the Alessi
show room in Milan alongwithother interesting entries from the contest.

200 creative designers from 112 countries took part in the #Concrete In Design
contest uploading a total of 302 proposals onthe website, a
platform promotingparticipatory design of new products and fostering digital
creative process.
