FreeSeas Inc. (Nasdaq: FREE) ("FreeSeas" or the "Company"), a transporter of
dry-bulk cargoes through the ownership and operation of a fleet of Handysize
and Handymax vessels, announced todaythat on December 16, 2013, NASDAQ
notified the Company that it had regained compliance with Listing Rule
5550(a)(2), which requires a minimum bid price of $1.00 for continued listing
on the NASDAQ Stock Market and that the matter is now closed.
