  Brown-Forman Earns Top Marks in 2014 Corporate Equality Index

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- December 16, 2013

Brown-Forman Corporation (NYSE:BFA) (NYSE:BFB) received a perfect score of 100
percent on the 2014 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a nationalbenchmarking
survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT
workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. This
is the fourth consecutive year Brown-Forman has received a perfect score.

“The CEI is the gold standard for corporate policies and practices related to
LGBT employees and their families. Brown-Forman has worked hard to create a
workplace that is inclusive and respectful of all employees,” said Ralph de

The 2014 CEI rated 934 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related
policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections,
domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits,
competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. Of those
934 rated, 303 major U.S. businesses earned top marks this year.
Brown-Forman’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria resulted in a
100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT
Equality.
