and 3-D motion picture exhibitor, announced today that guests visiting its
Carmike 14 at 7415 South Broadway in Tyler, TX will soon be able enjoy the
world’s most immersive cinematic experiences when the new IMAX auditorium
opens on Fri., December 13. The IMAX auditorium will launch Friday afternoon
with the premiere of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug: An IMAX 3D
Experience. As an added bonus, all guests that purchase an opening weekend
IMAX ticket at this location will be able to further maximize their experience
with a voucher redeemable for $3 off any Carmike concession combo, valid
through the last showing of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug on Sun.,
The new IMAX auditorium will offer patrons a unique experience, allowing them
to enjoy the biggest blockbusters like never before. IMAX’s cutting-edge
projection system, which delivers crystal-clear images, is coupled with IMAX's

Carmike’s BigD large format digital experience will remain at the Carmike 14
location, but in conjunction with the opening of the new IMAX auditorium, the
BigD will relocate to another large auditorium. The combination of these two
uniquely immersive experiences ensure that guests at this facility will have
more choice of premium formats than ever before – in both 2-D and 3-D formats.
