Media Advisory - After Nexen-CNOOC: Is Canada's Investment Policy on the Right
CALGARY, Dec. 6, 2013 /CNW/ - The fallout of the 2012 Nexen-CNOOC deal was
revamped federal policy around foreign state-owned enterprises investing in
Canadian businesses. Now, these sorts of deals will only be approved under
exceptional circumstances. Has the federal government got it right? Are there
better alternatives out there?
Media are invited to a conference hosted by The School of Public Policy that
will bring together leading experts, practitioners and policy makers in the
areas of foreign direct investment and state-owned enterprises. The event will
feature rigorous discussion around this important policy area with
