Stein Mart, Inc. Reports November 2013 Comparable Store Sales Increase of 3.1%

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Dec. 5, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Stein Mart, Inc.
(Nasdaq:SMRT) today reported that total sales for the four-week period ended
November 30, 2013 increased 7.7 percent and comparable store sales increased
3.1 percent.

The table below shows total sales for the period ended November 30, 2013
compared to the period ended November 24, 2012, while comparable store sales
measures the period ended November 30, 2013 against the respective period
ending December 1, 2012.

Linens, dresses, ladies' boutique, and ladies' career and casual sportswear
posted the strongest sales for the month, while ladies' accessories, men's
furnishings and men's sportswear were more challenged. Geographically,
November sales were strongest in Texas, while the Midwest performed lower than
the chain.

The Company operated 264 stores at the end of November this year compared to
263 stores last year.
