MINNEAPOLIS -- November 22, 2013

One of Minnesota’s Top Women in Finance this year is Katie Libbe, Vice
President of Consumer Insights for Allianz Life Insurance Company of North
America (Allianz Life®). The 13^th annual awards from Minnesota business
publication Finance & Commerce honor women across the state who have
distinguished themselves through outstanding contributions to “their
professions, their communities and society at large.”

Libbe received the award for her contributions as a thought-leader on
retirement income planning. Most recently, she led the development and
implementation of the Allianz Life 2013 Women, Money & Power Study. This
groundbreaking study surveyed more than 2,000 women in America about how they
viewed finances and retirement planning. The study led to the creation of new
educational materials for financial professionals and drew great attention
from the financial community and the media. It has generated hundreds of news
articles and positioned Libbe as lead spokesperson for Allianz Life on the
topic.

“Katie’s honor as one of the Top Women of Finance is well deserved,” said
Chief Marketing Officer Nancy Jones. “Her work has raised the profile of
Allianz Life and had a significant influence on the discussion of retirement
planning.”

Libbe leads a team responsible for educating consumers and financial
professionals about retirement strategies. They develop educational materials
and programs based on pioneering consumer research and analysis. In addition,
she is responsible for the Allianz Academy and Advanced Markets teams that
represent Allianz Life at more than 800 financial seminars every year. She
also serves on the Financial Literacy Council at Allianz Life that supports
financial education in Minnesota’s schools.

“One of the most pressing needs of our society is growing financial skills,”
said Libbe. “People are daunted by financial planning itself and are afraid
that they can’t possibly save enough for the future. But they can, especially
with the help of a financial professional. My goal and my team’s mission is to
show them how.”
