Toro’s PrecisionSense™ site assessment system received top honors in the
agricultural technology category that focuses on improving productivity,
efficiency and environmental sustainability. Used by golf courses and sports
fields, this state-of-the-art solution utilizes innovative mobile soil sensing
and data collection technology to measure the variability of key site
attributes – including soil moisture, salinity, compaction and plant
performance – to help improve water and resource efficiency, and produce
healthy, more uniform turf.

“With a constant focus on innovation and delivering value to customers, we are
honored to receive this great recognition,” said Dana Lonn, managing director
of Toro’s Center for Advanced Turf Technology. “It speaks to the hard work of
all employees in our continuous effort to develop solutions that conserve
resources, improve productivity, and meet performance expectations.”

The 14^th annual Tekne Awards took place on Nov. 6 at the Minneapolis
Convention Center, and recognized 16 small and large companies. Award
categories spanned the manufacturing, agricultural, electronics and healthcare
industries. The program also honored innovations in education, mobile devices
and applications, and safety and security.

“The diversity of these 16 recipients is a testament to the innovation that’s
taking place in Minnesota, across several industries and all sizes of
business,” said Margaret Anderson Kelliher, president and chief executive
officer of MHTA. “New technology can improve how we live and do business, but
it also contributes to a better, stronger Minnesota. As we continue to
advocate for those things that will help spur technology growth in our state,
including stronger STEM education and better business incentives, these
recipients are a proud reminder of the amazing things happening here.”
