Coast Guard hoists woman off Carnival cruise ship near West Palm Beach
MIAMI — A Coast Guard helicopter crew hoisted a woman off a Carnival cruise ship after suffering injuries to her legs Wednesday near the Palm Beach Sea Buoy.
Coast Guard Sector Miami watchstanders were notified by personnel aboard the cruise ship Carnival Sensation, that a 52-year old woman had fallen in an elevator and severely injured both her legs.
Watchstanders immediately launched a helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Miami who arrived on scene and safely hoisted the injured woman, and flew her to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla.
The woman was reported to be in stable condition at the time of the medevac.
