Leading Pharmaceutical Company Selects Active Power to Support New

AUSTIN, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 10/10/13 --  Active Power (NASDAQ:
ACPW), manufacturer of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and
modular infrastructure solutions, announced it has shipped more than
three megawatts of total rated UPS capacity to one of the largest
pharmaceutical companies in the world. The multiple CleanSource(R)
UPS systems shipped in the third quarter of 2013 and will be deployed
to support the end user's new drug manufacturing facility in the
eastern U.S.

A highly energy efficient system, CleanSource UPS operates at up to
98 percent efficiency at full load and up to 96 percent efficiency at
partial load and delivers critical backup power in half the space
compared to a legacy UPS. The product can also reduce total cost of
ownership by up to 60 percent due in part to its high energy
efficiency, lower cooling costs, and reduced maintenance requirements
compared to a conventional UPS.
