Two Special Olympics Georgia State Games Coming to North Georgia Oct. 11-13

ATLANTA, Oct. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --Two Special Olympics Georgia
State Games will be held in North Georgia this weekend: the State Fall Games
and the State Horse Show.
Nearly 1,500 athletes will travel to Dalton for the State Fall Games to
compete in bocce, cycling, golf, long distance walking and running and
softball. In Gainesville, approximately 200 athletes will try to be the
state's best equestrian.
This is the third and final year that State Fall Games, presented by The
Rotary Club of Carpet City, will be in Dalton. Competition will be Friday,
Saturday and Sunday with medals being awarded throughout the weekend. Venues
will be located at Heritage Point Park, Knob North Golf Club and the downtown
Dalton Square for cycling.
This is the first year Chicopee Woods Agriculture Center in Gainesville has
hosted the State Horse Show, presented by The Boeing Company. Athletes will
compete in showmanship, dressage, English and Western riding, and riding
The games are free and open to the public. Awards will be given out throughout
