Jonas Wiik New Exploration Director at Boliden
BOLIDEN, Sweden -- October 1, 2013
Jonas Wiik has been appointed as the new Exploration Director at Boliden Mines
and will take up this position on 1 October 2013.
Jonas has worked within the Boliden for ten years, including eight within the
exploration organisation. His most recent position is that of Near Mine
Exploration Manager at Boliden Mines. Jonas holds an MSc in Geology and
Mineralogy from Åbo Akademi, Finland. He will succeed Hans Årebäck who, after
four years as Exploration Director, will now work with Business development
and Strategy within Boliden Mines.

operations and growth. Boliden has almost 100 years of exploration experience
and today attracts professionals from around the world. Boliden has positioned
itself as the European leader in exploration of zinc and copper, and
exploration is currently being carried out at a number of locations in Sweden
and Ireland. Investments over the past 10 years have generated huge increases
of mineral resources and mineral reserves in primarily Garpenberg and Aitik.
In 2012, SEK 350 million was invested in exploration which resulted in a total
of 227,640 metres being drilled.
