"Customers running SAP solutions who are moving to virtual and cloud-based infrastructures will benefit by deploying Stingray Traffic Manager. This will help improve the performance, security, and resilience of enterprise applications," said Jeff Pancottine, senior vice president and general manager of the Stingray application delivery business unit at Riverbed. "With SAP's rigorous testing of our products, these enterprises can now be assured that our products integrate with SAP NetWeaver and will help them achieve improved performance of business-critical applications."

In these tests, SAP used Stingray Traffic Manager installed as a virtual appliance with the SAP NetWeaver technology platform and simulated normal end-user conditions to determine that the two can interoperate successfully, to meet the strict test criteria set by SAP.

In each scenario, the Stingray software was certified to meet SAP requirements for application functionality, performance, and security. In addition, Stingray was shown to provide additional enhancements for application availability, resilience, and encryption, while helping reduce the workload of SAP application servers.

More than 22,000 organizations worldwide depend on Riverbed to understand, optimize and consolidate their IT infrastructure, through solutions that overcome performance issues caused by distance, distributed computing, and ever increasing amounts of data. As IT organizations embark on strategic initiatives to virtualize, consolidate and migrate workloads into cloud environments, users are moved farther from their data. Slow applications, sluggish file transfers and inefficient websites can negatively impact the performance and success of these initiatives. Riverbed transforms IT performance by providing solutions spanning WAN optimization, storage delivery, application-aware network performance management, application performance management, application delivery controllers, web content optimization (WCO), and cloud data protection. By providing the broadest portfolio of performance solutions that deliver anywhere, any-application optimization, Riverbed enables organizations to increase productivity and efficiency, while enhancing business resilience and controlling costs.
