IMC announces cooperation with Bayer CropScience and International Finance
Corporation (IFC)

- Pilot project to increase agricultural productivity
- Bayer CropScience and IFC selected IMC to participate in advisory program
- IMC up to serve as role model on innovation and sustainability in
agribusiness by exploring enormous agrarian potential of Ukraine for
  Europe
- 1/3 of the world's black soil resources and favourable climate as frame
  conditions

Kiev, September 25, 2013 - IMC, one of the leading agricultural companies
in Ukraine, has just announced its participation in a pilot project aimed
at increasing agricultural productivity and boosting the country's farming
potential.

'The company was selected to participate in and to contribute to the
advisory project 'Sustainable Development of Medium- and Small-Scale
Farmers in Ukraine' of Bayer CropScience and the International Finance
Corporation (IFC)', explains CEO Dr. Alex Lissitsa. 'The aim of the
cooperation is to identify new ways to maximize agricultural production in
a sustainable manner. We have to learn how to make best use of it with the
professional know-how of experienced partners, especially in the context of
global food security.' Agricultural lands in Ukraine correspond to 20
percent of all agricultural lands of the European Union. Furthermore the
country has 1/3 of the world's black soil resources and a favorable
climate. Securing harvests and increasing agricultural productivity are key
factors for global food security.

Andreas Loechel, Head of Bayer CropScience Northern Black Sea Countries,
said: 'This cooperation aims to develop, test and pilot innovative
approaches in three areas, namely in sustainable farm management standards
and business processes; how to use high tech information and communication
solutions in order to improve efficiency and sustainability of crop growing
practices; and how to introduce modern and precision crop growing practices
in crop production. IMC will contribute to the sustainable development of
medium and small scale farms in Ukraine by serving as an example on the
introduction of sustainable farming practices.'

Oksana Varodi, Head of IFC's advisory program, said: 'IFC supports
agribusiness in Ukraine across the value chain - from primary production to
retail. In this project we are building shared value partnerships between
all the stakeholders across the value chain to improve farmers' access to
knowledge, open new markets, support financing and extension services.'

Program as basis for sustainable business development of IMC
Until the end of 2014, IMC will work together with Bayer CropScience and
IFC. For IMC the program is more than just a 16-months project: 'Since the
foundation of the company in 2007, our key objective has been to increase
the efficiency of agricultural production - with respect to people and
land', says Dr. Lissitsa. 'We now have the chance with the help of our
partner's expertise to continue with the implementation of the most
up-to-date agricultural technologies which contribute considerably to our
efficiency.' The cooperation team consists of external consultants, experts
of IFC and Bayer CropScience as well as five staff members of IMC.

The project 'Sustainable Development of Medium and Small -Scale Farmers in
Ukraine' is being implemented by IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, and
is supported with funds from the Austrian Ministry of Finance. It will make
the most innovative technologies and high-tech solutions available to
Ukrainian farmers.
