One of the key components of this new smart home platform is the "QIVICON Home Base", developed and manufactured by Sumitomo Electric Networks. QIVICON Home Base was designed, developed and produced in close cooperation with the QIVICON development team, and will be placed in the home between the broadband connection equipment, such as a DSL Home Gateway, and the in-home equipment like sensors and actors, to be managed. The communication with the in-home devices can be handled by various supported radio technologies.
