NEW YORK -- September 4, 2013

GMI Ratings, the leading provider of research on environmental, social,
governance (ESG) and accounting-related risks affecting the performance of
public companies, today announced that Cheryl Gustitus has joined the firm as
Chief Marketing Officer. Ms. Gustitus brings more than 20 years of marketing
and communications experience to GMI, as the firm looks to strengthen its
market position, expand its product scope and broaden its global footprint.

Ms. Gustitus joins GMI from Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS), a
division of MSCI, Inc. and the world’s largest corporate governance advisory
firm, where she led global marketing and communications. Over the past ten
years, she was instrumental in building ISS’ institutional market leadership
in corporate governance and risk analysis as well as driving growth in new
market segments, including the corporate issuer segment. Ms. Gustitus was part
of the executive leadership team that sold ISS to RiskMetrics Group, where she
remained in an executive marketing capacity and also led investor relations
following the company’s initial public offering and through several subsequent
acquisitions. Ms. Gustitus, who will be based in GMI’s new Bethesda, Maryland
office, started her career at premier mutual fund company T. Rowe Price.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to have Cheryl at the helm of GMI’s marketing and
thought leadership,” said GMI Ratings’ Chief Executive Officer, Dan Concannon.
“Cheryl’s deep expertise, proven track record and familiarity with the
institutional investor and corporate issuer communities will help GMI
accelerate its growth and strengthen its market position. The addition of a
seasoned Chief Marketing Officer and our continuing investment in product
development and sales demonstrates our fundamental commitment to growing this
business.”

GMI Ratings’ product suite consists of its flagship GMI Analyst platform which
includes its AGR® (Accounting and Governance Risk) ratings, research and
real-time updates on 19,000 companies worldwide and its ESG ratings, research
and real-time updates on 6,000 companies globally. In June, GMI launched its
new Forensic Alpha Model (FAM), which uses governance and accounting-related
forensic risk metrics to predict equity returns.

“Having worked in this industry for the past decade, I have long appreciated
the high quality of GMI’s data products, its people and its meaningful
research,” said Ms. Gustitus. “With the global corporate governance landscape
rapidly evolving and the subsistence of corporate fraud always threatening
investors’ portfolios, GMI’s expertise in risk mitigation will prove
increasingly valuable to asset managers, pension funds, hedge funds, D&O
insurers and others. I’m very enthusiastic about GMI’s capabilities in helping
investors manage risk and improve returns.”
