NEW YORK, Aug. 29, 2013
NEW YORK, Aug. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --HLW is pleased to announce that Edward
Shim has been promoted to a Principal in the New York office. Mr. Shim has 15
years of experience in architectural practice in the United States, Europe,
the Middle East and Asia. He specializes in the design of commercial,
residential, mixed-use, hospitality and retail architecture.
"Ed's contributions have been key to maintaining HLW's strong presence in both
the domestic and international markets for high-rise residential and mixed-use
projects," said John Gering, Managing Partner of HLW. "He has a broad range of
experience, with both interiors and core and shell projects, and his ability
to guide a challenging project from conceptual design to construction
administration has meant that HLW architecture remains effective and
innovative regardless of the setting."
Christian Giordano, HLW Principal and Director of Architectural Design,
applauds "the quality of dedication that Ed exhibits with his clients and the
product he delivers. His clients trust him and look forward to working with
him and his team. We look forward to seeing what exciting opportunities he
will bring HLW in the future."
Edward Shim joined HLW more than nine years ago as a Senior Designer. During
this tenure, he became the Design Director of HLW's Architectural Design

Harbor North Redevelopment District, 225 Grand, in Jersey City.
In addition to designing multiple buildings in the Shanghai region, Mr. Shim
is making significant contributions to the tri-state area, including projects
for BMW, Hofstra University, Ironstate Development and Mack-Cali Realty
Corporation. In the Fall 2013, the construction of two mega luxury residential
towers will commence in Jersey City, NJ, the 45-story residence on Columbus
Avenue and the 70-story residence in the Harborside development. Mr. Shim is
also currently leading the next phase of design for another 50-story tower in
