our on-going efforts to improve operational efficiency and control
manufacturing costs, we achieved continuing reductions in non-silicon costs,

First Solar, Inc. Research Report

On August 20, 2013, First Solar, Inc. (First Solar) announced that the Company
has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the City of Roseville,
California, for 32MW AC of solar electricity which will be generated at Lost
Hills photovoltaic power plant. First Solar expects the Lost Hills project
construction to start as early as 2014 in Kern County, California. The Company
said that the 10-year PPA - First Solar's first agreement of its kind with a
municipal utility - was approved by the Roseville City Council on July 17,
2013. According to the Company, the agreement will be effective from 2015.
First Solar stated that Roseville Electric has purchased 325,000 MWH of
renewable energy for $24 million for 10 years. According to First Solar, this
contract will reduce the cost by $6.5 million from the amount spent last year

Semtech Corporation Research Report

On August 21, 2013, Semtech Corporation (Semtech) reported its Q2 FY 2014
financial results (period ended July 28, 2013) with net sales increasing 9.5%
YoY to $165 million. Net income stood at $19.1 million, or $0.28 per diluted
share, in Q2 FY 2014, compared to net income of $10 million, or $0.15 per
diluted share, in Q2 FY 2013. Commenting on the results, Mohan Maheswaran,
Semtech's President and CEO, said, "Semtech delivered solid second quarter
results with record revenue and gross margin. We also expanded operating
margin, grew net income and continued to see strong design win activity. We
expect our Q3 results to be negatively impacted by both a reduction in demand
and inventory corrections at several of our largest smartphone customers. We
anticipate that this weakness will continue through most of the second half.
However, we remain confident in our ability to manage through any short term
