Smiths Detection to Supply Florida With GasID Units to Enhance HAZMAT

Smiths Detection has received an order from the State of Florida for 15 of its
GasID portable gas and vapor chemical identifiers to help strengthen its first
The units will be distributed to county and city HAZMAT teams across Florida,
enhancing local response capabilities and expanding the network of more than a
dozen GasID units already in use throughout the state.
Randolph K. Jordan, Assistant Chief of the City of Fort Myers Fire Department
said: “The inclusion of this technology in our equipment cache will greatly
enhance each team’s ability to detect and identify unknown gases and vapors.

in minutes, giving HAZMAT response teams critical information about the
