Media Advisory - Money Mart launches Easter Seals' Send a Kid to Camp Campaign
TORONTO, Aug. 16, 2013 /CNW/ - Easter Seals Canada and Money Mart are working
together on a 2-month Summer Campaign specifically aimed at raising funds to
Send Kids to Camp.
Launched on July 15, 2013, the company's 475+ stores and more than 2,000 staff
across Canada are part of this inspiring initiative to provide life changing
camp experiences to kids living with physical and/or intellectual
disabilities. With a goal of $100,000, to date we have raised $42,000.
For the duration of this campaign that wraps up on September 13(th), every
Money Mart store will help raise funds and bring awareness in support of
people with disabilities. Money Mart customers are being asked to support
Easter Seals by making donations as a top-up. 100% of the funds raised
during the campaign will go directly to support Easter Seals.
"Money Mart is a prominent retail partner of Easter Seals Canada, providing
essential funding for our camp programs across the country. Celebrating 10
years as a major sponsor, Money Mart has raised more than $2.3 million,
providing one-of-a-kind camp experiences for thousands of children with
disabilities across Canada. We are honoured to partner with a philanthropic
company that works hard each year to raise funds for our programs, raise
profile for our cause and helps all Canadian kids with disabilities reach
their full potential," said Max Beck, Chief Executive Officer for Easter Seals
"Coming together as a community to send kids to camp where they can learn
self-confidence and do things their way is an integral part of growth for a
child with a physical disability. Money Mart is proud to partner with Easter
Seals on this truly amazing and inspiring summer camp experience. Since first
becoming involved with Easter Seals in 2002, Money Mart has supported various
initiatives including the 24 hour relay and Paper Eggs campaign. We encourage
our customers to help Send Kids to Camp by making a donation the next time
they visit one of our stores," said Ian White, Money Mart Vice President
National Operations.
