During an awards ceremony today at Concord Plaza, Highlands High School graduate Joe Fabela received a $5,000 scholarship. Fabela, who completed a financial education course in high school and graduated in June,plans to attend the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. "Encouraging financial education is essential to improving lives and financial well-being, which is why BBVA Compass continues to create those opportunities in the communities we serve," BBVA Compass San Antonio City President Andrea Smith said at the awards ceremony.
