There is still an oversupply of gasoline in Europe

Grupa Lotos are utilising “diesel max” technologies to tackle the challenge of
gasoline supply. Wojciech Blew, Grupa Lotos tells us, “diesel max direction
lets us better balance the market – less gasoline and naphtha export and
decrease costs of gasoline processing” giving us a viable solution. In terms
of how refiners can benefit from conversion technologies he comments,
“conversion technologies need to enable refiners to raise the value of heavy
fractions to the value of motor fuels fraction.”

Both speakers were asked to comment on what excites them about the industry.
Even in a challenging market, refiners in Italy and Poland are staying
optimistic. Wojciech Blew, Grupa Lotos says “the refining industry is a key
sector for the economy; this branch is responsible not only for the fuel
supplies but also, indirectly, for the running of the whole economy.” Saras
agree that “refining is a global industry, even for small, niche players!”
