Penn State Alumni Opens a New Dickey’s Barbecue in State College
Nation’s Fastest Growing Barbecue Franchise Opens New Pennsylvania Location
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- August 1, 2013
On Thursday, August 8 Penn State alumni Jay and Paula Rhodes are opening their
first Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in State College. The celebration will last for
three days spanning from Thursday through Saturday, August 10 and customers
will have a chance to win a $500 Dickey’s gift card.
“Dickey's will not only bring something original to State College,” said new
owner Jay Rhodes. “But it will also bring a fresh way of doing business to the
area based upon old-fashioned values that have been the basis of Dickey’s for
the past 72 years.”
This new fast casual barbecue restaurant is located at 333 Benner Pike,

Thursday, August 8: The first 50 customers will receive a Dickey’s gift card
fully loaded with up to $50. The next 100 customers will receive a voucher for
a free meal plate with the purchase of a drink.
Friday, August 9: The party continues with free Dickey’s Barbecue giveaways.
The first 100 customers will receive a free Big Yellow Cup of Miss Ollie’s Tea
and Dickey’s merchandise.
Saturday, August 10: Join Big Froggy 101 for $2 Pulled Pork Big Barbecue
sandwiches from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Dickey’s will hold a drawing for free
barbecue for an entire year. Three winners will be chosen and one lucky guest
will win a $500 gift card to Dickey’s.
