LONG BEACH, Calif., July 25, 2013

LONG BEACH, Calif., July 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern Californians are
firmly in the Internet fast lane with Verizon's FiOS Quantum Internet service,
and the company is spreading the word through the FiOS SoCal Experience, which
will support local community causes and reward people's creativity.

FiOS Quantum Internet offers consumers and small businesses some of the
nation's fastest mass scale Internet speeds available, featuring
download/upload speeds of 50/25, 75/35, 150/65 and 300/65 megabits per second
(Mbps). (This FiOS Internet speed grid shows specific examples of the
benefits of faster downstream and upstream speeds.)

Verizon's FiOS SoCal Experience team will meet Southern Californians where
they work, live and play in uniquely designed, tech-laden FiOS SoCal
Experience vehicles. The Experience teams and vehicles will make appearances
at community events, festivals, business mixers and residential neighborhoods
throughout the Beach Cities, San Gabriel Valley and Ventura County between now
and August 31.

The Experience fleet includes an iconic 1965 Volkswagen van that has been
transformed into a mobile entertainment experience, custom-fitted with FiOS
Internet and FiOS TV capability, along with 42-inch HDTVs. At each
vehicle-based event, visitors can participate in all aspects of the FiOS SoCal
Experience, including:

Influencing Local Change

A key facet of the FiOS SoCal Experience is support for local causes, and
Verizon and the local community will team up to support three non-profit
organizations in each phase of the campaign. Since the program first
launched, March 1, 2013, Verizon has donated $40,000 to non-profit
organizations in Palm Springs, Inland Valley, Santa Monica, Huntington Beach
and Oxnard. As we move into phase three, Verizon will donate at least $5,000
each to the Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach, ExplorOcean and Pomona Valley
Habitat for Humanity. In addition, local Verizon employees will volunteer
their time at these nonprofits. The local community will play an integral
role in deciding exactly how the charities will use their funds. You can

live experience and by visiting

Conquering Creativity, Winning Prizes

As a salute to the Southern California way of life, the FiOS SoCal Experience
offers locals a unique opportunity to design and win SoCal staples. The
"Conquer your Creativity" sweepstakes enables participants to virtually design
graphics for a beach bike, skate or surfboard, and enter those designs in the
sweepstakes. With a unique, computer-based design template, users can
integrate colors, personal photos and text into their designs.

Each week, one sweepstakes entry will be randomly selected, and the winner
will receive the item he or she entered – a surfboard, skateboard or beach
cruiser – with graphics inspired by their design. The winning sweepstakes
items will be custom-made by local craftsmen, including surfboard shaper Josh
Oldenburg and skateboard company SK8 Factory.
