Operators Reconnect Unit 1 at PPL Susquehanna to Power Grid After Completing

BERWICK, Pa., July 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Operators reconnected the Unit 1
reactor at PPL's Susquehanna nuclear power plant to the regional electric grid
Sunday (7/21), after repairing one of four valves that control the amount of
steam going into the turbine.
Unit 2 is operating at full power.
The Susquehanna plant, located in Luzerne County about seven miles north of
Berwick, is owned jointly by PPL Susquehanna LLC and Allegheny Electric
Cooperative Inc. and is operated by PPL Susquehanna.
