Law Offices of Howard G. Smith Announces Update to the Shareholder Lawsuit
Against Invacare Corporation
BENSALEM, Pa. -- July 12, 2013
Law Offices of Howard G. Smith announces that investors of Invacare
Corporation (“Invacare” or the “Company”) (NYSE:IVC) have until July 23, 2013
to move the Court to serve as lead plaintiff in the securities fraud class
action lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for the Northern
District of Ohio. The shareholder lawsuit was filed on behalf of a class (the
“Class”) comprising all purchasers of Invacare securities between July 22,
2010 and December 7, 2011, inclusive (the “Class Period”).
Invacare designs, manufactures and distributes medical equipment and supplies
worldwide. The Complaint alleges that defendants misrepresented or failed to
disclose widespread operational, quality and regulatory deficiencies --
including the Company’s failure to comply with U.S. Food and Drug
Administration guidelines and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (“CGMP”) --
at Invacare’s corporate facility and its wheelchair manufacturing facility in
Elyria, Ohio. On December 8, 2011 Invacare issued a press release announcing
that the FDA intended to enter a consent decree that would require the
suspension of certain operations until Invacare’s manufacturing facilities
became compliant with FDA regulations.
If you are a member of the Class described above, you have certain rights and
have until July 23, 2013 to move for lead plaintiff status. To be a member of
the class you need not take any action at this time, or may retain counsel of
your choice. If you wish to discuss this action or if you purchased Invacare
shares prior to the Class Period and wish to learn more concerning your rights
or interests with respect to these matters, please contact Howard G. Smith,
