America, is using CA Chorus™ to improve the performance of its database
systems and enable newer IT workers to use database tools effectively.

accesses or delivers data to the mainframe.

In 2012 the company was looking to improve DB2 for z/OS availability and
performance, because it would mean less DB2 downtime and faster transaction
time. It also needed to find a way for newer IT workers to easily use and
understand DB2 tools. Most newer workers are unfamiliar with the mainframe’s
traditional “green screen” and accustomed to more user friendly, Graphical
User Interfaces (GUIs).

As part of its retooling effort, Primerica decided to implement CA Chorus™
Database Management for DB2, with its user friendly, role-based workspace. "We
needed to address the challenge of introducing a new generation of IT workers
to the mainframe environment and CA Chorus delivered the GUI-oriented
navigation and functionality for system monitoring and troubleshooting that we
were looking for," said Wade.
