Aviat Networks Awarded $13 Million Microwave Backhaul Contract with the State
                                  of Oregon

Aviat Strengthens its Position as a Leading Supplier of Mission-Critical
Microwave Communications for First Responder Agencies

PR Newswire

SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 9, 2013

SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Aviat Networks, Inc.
(NASDAQ: AVNW), the leading expert in microwave networking solutions, today
announced that it has received orders worth $13 million for a combination of
microwave backhaul equipment and services to support the State of Oregon's
State Radio System. This order confirms that Aviat's mission-critical
microwave remains the trusted choice for first responder communications.

Oregon's State Radio System supports the Oregon State Police (OSP), the Oregon
Department of Transportation (ODOT) and other first responders on a
multi-agency wireless communication system. Aviat is installing its Eclipse
IRU600 microwave radios and third-party equipment to help upgrade and
consolidate the state's emergency first responder radio networks. Overall, the
project will provide the foundation for integration of state agency and other
public safety radio systems into an interoperable network that will allow
police officers, transportation workers and other public safety officials to
transparently communicate with each other as appropriate across jurisdictions.
Aviat's LTE-proven Eclipse IRU600 radios are deployed in some of the world's
largest LTE networks, so by deploying these radios, the state lays the
foundation for the public safety LTE network of the future.

"Oregon has been a customer of Aviat's for well over 20 years," says Rob
Reish, ODOT/OSP Wireless Section communication manager. "The reliability of
the Aviat equipment has been phenomenal, and the installation and maintenance
support from Aviat has always exceeded our expectations. We expect no less as
we implement our new microwave network. Aviat's people consistently show that
reliability and customer satisfaction are their primary goals."

"Aviat has a long history working with public safety network operators in
North America. The linchpin for those operators has always been the robust,
wide bandwidth available in our company's portfolio of high reliability, high
capacity licensed microwave radios," says Tony Ljubicich, vice president North
America Sales and Services, Aviat Networks. "As a global leader in wireless
infrastructure solutions for telecom networks, we welcome the challenge to
help integrate the state's first responder networks."
