Cleantech Group’s i3 Data Product Shows State’s Year-to-Date Investment Totals
                               at $193 Million

SAN FRANCISCO -- July 3, 2013

Cleantech Group™, a global market intelligence firm helping executives connect
with cleantech innovation, today released preliminary 2Q13 results from its i3
data product. The firm reported that in Texas, clean technology venture
investment during the quarter totaled $169,566,452, bringing the year-to-date
total to $193,295,576.

According to data in i3, Texas’s top deals and their investors were:

  * Skyonic, an Air company, raised $128,000,000 from Cenovus Energy,
    ConocoPhillips, BP Ventures, Energy Technology Ventures, BlueCap Partners,
    Toyo-Thai Corporation Public Company Limited, Berg & Berg Enterprises,
    LLC, Northwater Capital Management, PVS Chemicals, and Zachry
  * Glori Energy, a Conventional Fuels company, raised $12,809,995 from GTI
    Ventures, Oxford Bioscience Partners, Malaysian Life Sciences Capital Fund
    (MLSCF), and Omzest Group
  * wirelessSeismic, a Conventional Fuels company, raised $12,500,000 from
    Energy Ventures, Chesapeake NG Ventures, and Total Energy Ventures
  * WellAware Holdings, a Conventional Fuels company, raised $6,450,000
  * Omni Water Solutions, a Water & Wastewater company, raised $4,000,000 from
    Austin Ventures

“President Obama’s Climate Action address has reenergized the cleantech
industry, and our i3 data — in addition to the strong performance of Solar
City and Tesla — underscores our belief that we are turning a corner,” said
