Apple, Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) News: A market research firm recently predicted
Apple will ship 300 million tablets before the end of the year, further
building the anticipation for Quantum International Corp.'s release of its
innovative new line of iPad cases into the $2.3 billion iPad accessories
market. Respected market research firm Gartner predicts the tech business will
continue to flourish through the second half of 2013, with tablet sales seeing
a 67.9 percent increase from last year. There are likely many reasons for the
increase, including the predicted release of the fifth generation iPad later
this summer, consumers opting for the lighter, mobile tablet over bulky PCs,
and the increased use of iPads by professionals such as pilots, contractors
and medical personnel.

Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC), the computer-chip giant, announced late last week
it will enter a crowded field of companies offering alternatives to Comcast
Corp. and traditional pay-TV services. This year, the Santa Clara, Calif.,
company plans to sell a set-top box that streams content from the Internet
onto a TV. Intel's self-install set-top box will come with a bundle of live
local TV, ad-supported cable channels, and premium cable. There will be no
need for professional installers, an Intel spokesman said. The company will
market the box and service under a new brand yet to be disclosed. It will be
Intel's first direct-to-consumer product in many years.

STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), a global semiconductor leader serving
customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, is putting
sophisticated audio design and evaluation capabilities within reach of all
engineers using its SoundTerminal(TM) audio chips and digital MEMS
microphones, by publishing a complete virtual audio laboratory that can be
downloaded free of charge at http://www.st.com/apworkbench. The Audio
Processor Workbench is the first and, so far, only solution on the market
enabling comprehensive evaluation of a full audio and acoustic chain, from
microphone to sound amplifier and output speaker. It goes well beyond typical
GUI apps used for device configuration, and provides many features usually
available only in high-end test gear.

US airframer Boeing (NYSE: BA) said it has delivered British Airways' first
787 Dreamliner. The British Airways 787 departed Paine Field in Everett,
Wash., on Wednesday, June 26, arriving at London's Heathrow Airport TODAY at
12: 10 pm local time. The airplane was welcomed to its Heathrow home by Willie
Walsh, chief executive officer of International Airlines Group, the company
that owns British Airways. The carrier has announced that the airline will
operate the 787 from Heathrow to Toronto from Sept. 1 and Heathrow to Newark
from Oct. 1. British Airways' 787 Dreamliner carries 214 passengers and is
configured with 35 seats in Club World, 25 in World Traveller Plus and 154
