Code 42 Software, Inc., developers of award-winning, private and public
cloud-based endpoint backup solutions for consumers, businesses and the
enterprise, today launched “Apple-ization of the Enterprise,” available at

An evolution of the burgeoning consumerization of IT and Bring Your Own Device
(BYOD) trends, “Apple-ization” refers to the continued—and often
user-led—introduction of intuitive, user-friendly, Apple-like technologies
into the enterprise. These technologies frequently create data protection gaps
due to the ongoing migration of sensitive data onto endpoint devices by
“always-on” enterprise end users.

Code 42’s initiative provides an ongoing forum and resource for IT teams
struggling to securely and confidently address this movement while also
properly protecting enterprise data. The site is intended to be a one-stop
shop for enterprise IT teams seeking relevant information, tools, techniques
and checklists related to Apple-ization.

“Apple-ization confers significant benefits to both end users and the
enterprise. Organizations see improvements with respect to convenience,
efficiency and productivity. At the same time, though, Apple-ization presents
important challenges for IT managers,” said Phil Simon, award-winning author,
speaker and futurist. “To succeed today, IT professionals need new
technologies, information and tools, and—most important—a new mindset. If done
right, Apple-ization represents a major opportunity, rather than a burden.
Smart companies are becoming more user-friendly and seeing the results.”

“Apple-ization creates an entirely new set of IT challenges related to
integration, scaling and support for an already well-trodden domain,” said
Matthew Dornquast, co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Code 42.
“We want to share with IT pros best practices we’ve learned from five years of
supporting and protecting mission-critical data inlarge-scale, enterprise
deployments of Apple technology.”

Simon will host and moderate an ongoing, free webinar series featuring real IT
pros who will share personal Apple-ization stories and lessons learned. The
initial schedule features a variety of high-profile IT innovators, including:

*Arek Sokol, senior Mac engineer at Genentech/Roche
*Tim Winningham, systems manager at The Ohio State University
*And Jon Miller, head of mobility and digital asset management at Transport
    for London

They will co-present with industry leaders like TechTarget’s,
JAMF Software and Sophos on the hottest IT topics related to Apple-ization,
such as enterprise endpoint backup and restore, client management, enterprise
mobility management and enterprise security. In addition, Leading Geeks—an
organization dedicated to transforming how technology and the people who
deliver it contribute to their companies—will provide insight into how
enterprises can embrace Apple-ization by bridging the fundamental differences
between IT pros and non-technical users.

The schedule for the first series of webinars is as follows:

*IT’s New World: Understanding Today’s Empowered Employee (Phil Simon) –
    July 18
*Endpoint Backup & Restore: Protect Everyone, Everywhere (Genentech/Roche)
    – Aug. 1
*Client Management: Simplifying Life for System Admins (The Ohio State
University and JAMF Software) – Aug. 22
*Mind the Gap! Embracing Enterprise Mobility Management (Transport of
    London and TechTarget’s – Sept. 12
*Security Update: Inside the Latest Threats (Sophos) – Sept. 26
