THE STREET in Chestnut Hill (www.TheStreetChestnutHill.com) is pleased to
announce that Polarn O. Pyret USA (www.polarnopyretusa.com), the premium
childrenswear brand from Sweden, has opened its first Boston-area store next
to lululemon athletica and across from Shake Shack. This is the fifth Polarn
O. Pyret (pronounced “POH-lahrn oh PEE-rhet” and nicknamed PO.P) store in the
U.S., the fourth on the East Coast.

PO.P is the ultimate in kid-friendly shopping. Clothing is designed to be
handed down from child to child and stores are built to encourage creative
play. With built-in mirrors and tunnels, all of the store’s display tables
double as play equipment, and kids of all ages are invited to use them for
crawling, reading, sitting, tagging, laughing, playing, hiding and seeking.
Parents can relax on ottomans while children play with the colorful Brio Train
table inside the store. A fitting room in the back of the store is large
enough to comfortably fit a stroller, and a soft bench provides a comfortable
retreat for nursing mothers.

Designed around the enduring principle of Swedish practicality and with a
focus on outdoor play, PO.P’s assortment always features its Best Basics line,
which includes outerwear jackets, Merino wool hats, gloves and mittens,
underwear, socks, swimsuits and rashguard pants and tops, and is available
year-round so kids have the clothing they need to play in wherever they live
or travel to every day.

To make shopping simple, PO.P clothing – including tops, bottoms, dresses,
outerwear and casualwear – are arranged by age and stage. Entering the store,
guests will find clothing for Baby and Children ages 6-12 on the right side,
while PO.P’s outerwear selection and Kids 2-6 clothing is located on the left
wall. The adorable Newborn collection, with onesies, rompers and bodysuits, is
at the rear of the store.

“Boston is a city with spirit, attitude and spunk, as well as one with a love
of the outdoors. We think Greater Boston families will adore our Swedish
inspired design — from our stripes and our prints to outerwear that will keep
kids happy, warm and dry all year round,” says Jennifer Athanason, President
of Polarn O. Pyret USA. Michael McNaughton, Senior Vice President for WS
Development adds “We’re thrilled to welcome Polarn O. Pyret to THE STREET.
They add a new element of family-friendly shopping to our dynamic merchant mix
and we have no doubt they’ll be embraced by the community.”
