The International Association of Business Communicators Announces 2013-2014 
International Executive Board Officers 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/26/13 --  The International
Association of Business Communicators (IABC) has announced the names
of the incoming 2013-2014 international executive board (IEB). The
new members of the IEB were approved by current board members and the
selection was ratified by delegates of IABC's chapters and regions
during the Annual General Meeting held during the IABC World
Conference in New York.  
The international executive board is derived of IABC members from all
over the world and serves as the governing body of IABC, representing
the interests of IABC's membership-at-large. A new board and chair
are chosen each year. Robin McCasland is the incoming chair of the
IEB, taking over from Kerby Meyers. 
"IABC has been my professional home and its members my extended
family for more than 20 years. I've gained so much from my IABC
affiliation over the past two decades, and it's been a privilege to
serve in a variety of local, regional and international volunteer
leadership roles during that time. IABC has been challenged over the
past few months, but it is strong, resilient and poised to accomplish
great things in the coming years. I am humbled to have been granted
the opportunity to help change the trajectory of IABC," said
McCasland. "I'm looking forward to this board term and the

The international executive board develops the strategic plan and
direction for the association under the guidance of bylaws agreed
upon by IABC membership. They meet regularly throughout the year to
address new initiatives, determine and set policy, and review and
approve financial and spending decisions.

has accomplished so much during this transitional year," said Kerby
Meyers, outgoing chair of IABC's international executive board. "IABC
is instrumental to the future of communications, and it has been an

continue to move the organization in the right direction." 
The new roster of officers put forth by the executive board
represents a unique cross-section of the IABC global membership, and
Robin McCasland - Chair
 Robin McCasland is an accomplished
communication professional specializing in human resources (HR)
communication. She is currently the employee engagement and internal
communication leader at Dell Inc. Prior to joining Dell Inc.,
McCasland owned Brain Biscuits Strategic Communication in Dallas,
Texas. McCasland has spent nearly 15 years in various communication,
marketing and public relations roles with Texas Instruments
Incorporated and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.  
In 2012, McCasland served as vice chair of IABC. She is a past chair
of the IABC Research Foundation. McCasland also served on the boards
of the IABC Southern Region and the former IABC District 5. She has
been president of the Dallas and Fort Worth IABC chapters, and was
honored as IABC/ Dallas's Communicator of the Year in 2000. She has
received an IABC Gold Quill Award, a Silver Quill Award and several
Bronze Quill Awards over the past two decades. She has also received
the communicator awards for distinction in HR communication programs.
McCasland is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. 
Russell Grossman, ABC - Vice Chair
 A communication professional with
more than 30 years of experience, Russell Grossman, ABC, has been a
member of IABC since 2002. He has served as an IABC/U.K. board member
and as a member of the EXCEL committee, twice served as chair of the
World Conference committee and has been a member of IABC's
international executive board for the last two years.  
Currently the director of communication at the U.K.'s Department of
Business, Grossman is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of
Marketing and of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and
Commerce. He is a graduate of the University of Manchester, England,
a visiting Fellow at Cass Business School, London, and founding
member of  
Jane Mitchell - Research Committee Chair
 Jane Mitchell is the
immediate past president of the U.K. chapter of IABC on which she had
previously served as vice president of professional development.
Through her own company, JL&M, she works with clients to connect the
dots between the rhetoric and reality of embedding ethics, values and
behaviors in their organizations.  
Having started her career at the BBC in London, she has moved from
award-winning filmmaking to strategic communication working with both
public and global FTSE 100 companies. She is also a non-executive
director of leading U.K. communication agency, Karian and Box. 
Michael Ambjorn - Board Director
 Michael Ambjorn is founder of
Alignyourorg, an organization which houses a nonprofit lab and a
commercial practice, both focusing on helping people achieve
purpose-driven impact by aligning resource and effort through
bringing clarity and consensus to projects.  
Ambjorn has served as past chair of IABC Europe & Middle East, worked
in various communication roles at companies, including IBM and
Motorola, across four continents. Currently residing in London, he
headed up the Fellowship, a 27,000 strong group of social
entrepreneurs, influencers and senior decision makers, at the 259
year old Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacture and
Commerce (RSA), where he remains an active Fellow. Ambjorn is a
graduate of Frederikssund Gymnasium. 
Ritzi Ronquillo - Board Director 
 Ritzi Ronquillo has more than 30
years of extensive communication and public relations experience. She
spent a majority of her career as editor and head of publications,
communication, advertising, special events and general public
programs at the Manila Electric Company, Meralco. She also served on
the board of professional organizations and as a community leader.
Ronquillo now shares her exceptional knowledge as a communication
consultant and speaker, training consultant at Mapua Institute of
Technology Center, senior professional lecturer at De La Salle
University, consultant adjunct faculty and communication consultant
at Enderun Colleges. 
A member of IABC since 1991, Ronquillo has served as the North Asia
Regional director, and on several committees, including World
Conference, Council of Regions, and awards alignment. She has led the
Philippine Quill Awards and the Philippine CEO EXCEL Awards. The
recipient of Quill Awards, citations and other communication and
leadership awards, Ronquillo is president of IABC/ Philippines as it
celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2013. Ronquillo is a broadcast
communications graduate of the University of the Philippines,
Cynthia Schmieg, ABC - Board Director 
 Cynthia Schmieg, ABC, is a
senior communication professional with experience in multiple
industries and communication functions. She is currently an adjunct
business management / communication instructor at Brown College.
Schmieg has served as IABC/ Minnesota president and director of the
Pacific Plains Region.  
In addition to joining the international executive board, Schmieg is
also currently serving as chair of the IABC awards alignment
committee and co-chair of the IABC Gold Quill Awards' USA Blue Ribbon
Panel, the evaluation committee for Gold Quill Award entries. Schmieg
received her undergraduate degree from St. Cloud State University and
a master's of business communications degree from the University of
St. Thomas. 
Sharon Hunter - Board Director
 Sharon Hunter is a marketing
communication consultant with more than 20 years of experience
serving an international clientele with a focus on B2B services and
training. She currently manages internal communication and brand
alignment across student services at Concordia University, Montreal.
A career volunteer and committed mentor, she leveraged her IABC
leadership role to foster community partnerships to deliver
communication skills training to students in two languages.  
Hunter served as director of the award-winning IABC/Montreal chapter
in 2010, and then president for two years (2011-13) during which time
she was named Chapter Leader of the Year. Hunter holds a bachelor's
degree in specialization in communications from Concordia University. 
Terry Cerisoles - Secretary/Treasurer
 Terry Cerisoles is vice
president of technology communication for Turner Broadcasting System
Inc. worldwide. In her current role since 2000, Cerisoles has led
technology-focused communication for the company's critical technical
initiatives, such as the build-out of Turner Studio's digital
production facility, the real-time migration of 19 entertainment
networks across their midtown Atlanta campus, the rollout of TNT and
CNN's high-definition networks and, most recently, CNN's worldwide
transition to file-based production.  
An active member of IABC's Atlanta chapter, Cerisoles has served as
vice president of marketing, vice president of membership,
director-at-large of IABC's executive board and trustee of the IABC
Research Foundation -- all within the past two years. Cerisoles
received her bachelor of fine arts from the University of Vanderbilt
and the University of Memphis.
