Andersen Launches iPad® Apps for Home Style Pattern Books Homeowners, Contractors and Architects Have the Language of Style at their Fingertips Anywhere, Anytime Business Wire BAYPORT, Minn. -- June 20, 2013 Andersen Windows today announced it has launched two iPad apps providing users virtual versions of its popular Home Style Library pattern books. Available free in the iTunes App Store, these tablet-friendly apps give homeowners, architects, builders and remodelers easily accessible resources to understand and discuss the elements of architectural style at any stage of the building process. “For homeowners or remodelers, it’s like having an architectural library at your fingertips,” said Jay Libby, creative services manager at Andersen Windows. “We’ve started with two of our most popular pattern books: Craftsman Bungalow and Georgian Federal. Each style is a separate app, so you can download just the style you need when you need it. That accessibility in an iTunes® app means you can have that knowledge with you anywhere you go throughout the building process.” The apps were designed to give users a true page-turning experience like the print and pdf versions of the Pattern Books. More styles will be added to the app collection in the future, including Prairie, American Farmhouse, French Eclectic, Modern, Shingle, Queen Anne, Ranch, Spanish Colonial, Tudor styles and more as Andersen expands the Andersen Home Style Pattern Book offering. The apps are part of the Andersen Home Style Library. Volumes in the library are accessible four ways: online as interactive resources; downloadable for free; spiral-bound hard copies may be ordered through the Andersen website of eight styles; and now the iPad apps bring the Craftsman Bungalow and Georgian Federal styles to the convenience of tablet technology. Each pattern book is dedicated to a single style and contains illustrations and descriptions of the architectural elements that make up each style including proportions, groupings, positioning, accent windows, color palettes, combinations and grille patterns; interior and exterior trim details; entry door, hardware and art glass options. With the Andersen Home Style Pattern Books, professionals and homeowners will find a common language to discuss the design of a home effectively and efficiently. “Our intent with this collection has always been to make style accessible and easy to dream,” Libby said. “Providing the information in a variety of formats continues that commitment.” For more information on the Andersen Home Style Library and to order pattern books, visit www.andersenwindows.com/home-styles/.
