PHILADELPHIA, June 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Aberdeen Emerging Markets Smaller
Company Opportunities Fund, Inc. (NYSE MKT: ETF) (the "Fund") announced the
completion of the restructuring of its portfolio to reflect changes to its
investment policies. As previously announced on March 14, 2013, shareholders
voted to change certain investment policies of the Fund.
As a result of these policy changes, effective March 15, 2013, the Fund no
longer concentrates its investments in the telecommunications industry and is
not required to focus its investment in any industry. To reflect the new
investment policies, the Fund's name has been changed to Aberdeen Emerging
Markets Smaller Company Opportunities Fund, Inc.
The Adviser has completed the restructuring of the Fund's portfolio to reflect
its new investment policies. A complete list of the Fund's holdings as of May
31, 2013 and other Fund Information may be found at www.aberdeenetf.com.

Aberdeen Emerging Markets Smaller Company Opportunities Fund, Inc. is a
