Sharp China's Environmental Education Program Reaches 10,000 Children
Osaka, June 7, 2013 - (JCN Newswire) - Since 2008, the Sharp Group in China
has been providing environmental education for elementary school children, in
cooperation with the China National Committee For The Wellbeing Of The Youth,
Child Development Center*. In May 2013, the cumulative total of children who
have participated in the program passed the 10,000 milestone.
The Sharp Group gives environmental education classes to elementary school
children in various parts of the world, namely North America, Japan, China, and
other Asian countries. The aim is to foster an understanding of the
Earth's environment and to encourage children to take action to protect
the environment, specifically by saving energy and recycling. In China, Sharp
has so far visited 147 schools in total in Shanghai and in the Jiangsu Province
cities of Changshu, Wuxi, and Nanjing.
With support from the China National Committee For The Wellbeing Of The Youth,
Child Development Center, Sharp China creates teaching materials based on Sharp
products and technologies. Sharp China employees themselves act as lecturers,
giving fun and practical lessons.
The Sharp Group is committed to raising environmental awareness among children
and will continue providing environmental education throughout the world.
