HOUSTON, June 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- BBVA Compass announced today that
influential author and Columbia Business School professor Rita McGrath will
headline the bank's Business Strategy Forum series, which is designed to put
entrepreneurs and senior executives face to face with the leading business
thinkers.

The series, which begins June 18 in Jacksonville, Fla., and includes stops in
six other cities in the bank's Sunbelt footprint, will combine public
appearances and private speaking engagements for the bank's clients.

"We want to provide our clients with value-added insights that help them grow
their businesses and strengthen our relationships," said Rafael Bustillo, head
of commercial banking for BBVA Compass. "We're doing that in a big way by
joining with Harvard Business Review Press to give our clients direct access
to Rita McGrath. She's one of the world's leading authorities on business
strategy and has a unique perspective on how to compete in a world of constant
change and uncertainty."

Harvard Business Review Press is publishing McGrath's latest book, "The End of
Competitive Advantage: How to Keep Your Strategy Moving as Fast as Your
Business," which was released this week. The book advises executives to learn
how to exploit short-lived opportunities with speed and decisiveness in order
to win in volatile and uncertain environments. Fortune 500 companies and
international organizations have sought her advice, and she has been
recognized as one of the top 10 business school professors to follow on
Twitter (@rgmcgrath).

McGrath will also speak in Birmingham, Phoenix, Denver, Houston, Dallas and
Fort Worth. The series ends on June 27.
