Project Earth Announces Winners of 2013 World Environment Day Contest
LANCASTER, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 06/05/13 -- In recognition of
World Environment Day, Ecology and Environment, Inc. (E & E) is
pleased to announce the winners of the 2013 Project Earth World
Environment Day Contest. Over six hundred environmental projects in
schools from more than sixty countries were entered on the Project
Earth website (www.projectearth.net) for this year's contest and the
best projects were selected from each participating country.
Launched in 2010 by E & E, Project Earth is an interactive online
environmental education platform that fosters global knowledge
transfer by empowering students and teachers around the world to
share their environmental projects with one another. Since its
creation, students from over 2,600 schools in 132 countries have
posted more than 2,900 projects on the Project Earth web-site.
Participating schools use text, photos, and videos to describe a wide
variety of projects, such as energy efficiency measures, waste
reduction efforts, cleanups, and education programs. Schools can
review each other's projects in multiple languages and send messages
to their peers around the world.
Project Earth has hosted World Environment Day Contests since 2011.
"We continue to be impressed with the hard work and creativity of the
next generation when it comes to learning how to live in a way that
respects our planet's precious and limited resources," said E & E
president and CEO Kevin Neumaier. "If today's students can learn from
each other, and work with each other, we can be hopeful that their
generation will be able to take the steps necessary to address the
pressing environmental challenges they stand to inherit."
The winners of the 2013 Project Earth World Environment Day Contest
are attached with name of project, school, country and link to
