Seasoned Innovation Leader Joins Maddock Douglas
Thomas Stat, previously with IDEO, joins innovation consulting firm to head up
CHICAGO -- May 15, 2013
Maddock Douglas, an internationally recognized firm that helps leading
corporations develop new products, services, experiences and business models,
welcomes Thomas Stat as a senior vice president of innovation.
Stat will be joining Maddock Douglas to expand the business leadership team.
He will be championing project teams, galvanizing client relationships and
energizing innovation initiatives to ensure the highest level of collaboration
and the greatest impact for Maddock Douglas clients.
Prior to his new position at Maddock Douglas, Stat was a senior innovation
consultant at his own consulting firm and formerly an associate partner at
IDEO, where he co-led and helped grow the Chicago office for more than a
decade. Stat is a senior advisor to Chicago Ideas Week and an active
contributor to the Edison Talks and Chicago Ideas Week You(th) program. He
previously served on the Edison Awards Steering Committee, acting as the
chairman for the 2012 Edison Awards. He actively speaks at industry events and
lectures at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, the McCormick School
of Engineering and has been an active contributor to the NuVention program at
Northwestern University. He is an active member of TED and spoke on the TED
main stage in 2012.

career, Stat has worked on projects in a wide range of industries including

Theatre, Starbucks, P&G, Jones Lang LaSalle, American Express, Sodexo, among

Stat lives in Northbrook, Ill., with his wife and two children. He holds a
B.A. in architecture and a B.F.A. in fine arts from Rhode Island School of
Design, and a B.A. in psychology from Boston University. Stat also studied
aerospace engineering at Purdue University and has a certificate in marketing
management at Stanford University.
