Campaign and Website
Innovative campaign earns Gold Award of Excellence in the
Interactive Multimedia Category
LAS VEGAS - (May 9, 2013) - The luxury resort, Wynn Las Vegas recently won two
Communicator Awards in the International Academy of the Visual Arts' (IAVA)
19^th annual marketing and communications competition. The resort earned a
Gold Award of Excellence in the Interactive Multimedia Category for its
Digital Taxi Cab Marketing Program that is featured in 2,000 Las Vegas taxi
cabs. Wynn's redesigned website captured a Silver Award of Distinction in the
Hotel and Lodging category.
The Communicator Awards are sponsored by the IAVA and is the leading
international awards program recognizing big ideas in marketing and
communications. Founded nearly two decades ago, The Communicator Awards
received over 6,000 entries from companies and agencies of all sizes, making
it one of the largest awards competition of its kind. The Award of Excellence,
the highest honor, was given to those entries whose ability to communicate
positions them as the best in the field. The Award of Distinction was
presented for projects that exceed industry standards in quality and
Launched in March 2012, the Wynn Digital Taxi Cab Marketing Program has been
viewed by more than 31 million taxi cab passengers. Through a partnership with
Show Media, a digital out-of-home media company, Wynn developed a
comprehensive GPS-based audio advertising campaign that is featured in taxis
throughout the city.
Each taxi cab is equipped with a mobile device system which includes a 10.1"
high-definition monitor with touch screen technology and is built on Google's
Android operating system. The technology is GPS driven and geo targets
visitors based upon the point of pick up. The exact locations are determined
by a geo fence-a boundary defined around the location or area on the Earth's
surface-with accuracy up to a 300 foot radius. The geo fence zones allow for
relevant messaging to play, greeting visitors with a precise location-specific
message from Steve Wynn, chairman and CEO of Wynn Resorts.
Programming of the mobile device is specific to the Las Vegas Strip and
Downtown, offering real-time information to visitors. Additionally, the system
offers video tours of Wynn Las Vegas and Encore dining, entertainment,
attractions, shopping and nightlife.
The resort's redesigned website, created by Korey Kay & Partners and 1010
Collective, features an audience-based, intuitive and visually appealing
experience for guests. The site utilizes photography and video to showcase the
resort in lieu of heavy content or text to best convey the Wynn experience. As
a result of the redesign, average monthly unique visitation of the site has
increased and the resort has seen an increase in online reservations booked.
