SAN FRANCISCO -- May 6, 2013

From handbags to furniture to guitars, Citi will help celebrate SFMade Week
with displays of locally manufactured products in all 25 of the city’s
Citibank branches. Today through Friday, May 10, visitors to Citibank branches
will have the opportunity to peruse products manufactured in the city, vote
for their favorite manufacturers, and win cash prizes for those businesses to
help them grow (click here for a full list of participating branches).

SFMade Week, which seeks to build awareness of and support for the city’s
vital manufacturing sector, was kicked off last Friday at an event featuring
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

“SFMade Week demonstrates how our city is leading the way in growth, job
creation and innovation in our national drive to ‘Make it in America,’” Pelosi
said. “By supporting and investing in manufacturers and businesses in San
Francisco and across the country and through public-private partnerships, we
can keep America number one. SFMade is essential in that effort.”

The program was developed by SFMade, whose mission is to build and support a
vibrant manufacturing sector in San Francisco that sustains local companies,
encourages entrepreneurship and innovation, and creates job opportunities for
the local population. Citi Community Development is a founding supporter of
SFMade.

SFMade, along with New York City’s Pratt Center for Urban Development, is a
charter member of the Urban Manufacturing Alliance, which was founded with a
$300,000 Citi Community Development contribution to become a national advocate
for urban manufacturing. Local efforts are planned in Oakland, Chicago,
Philadelphia, Atlanta and other cities from coast to coast.
