DETROIT – The U.S. Small Business Administration's Michigan District Office
and Timber Products of Iron Mountain, Inc. will host an SBA press conference
on May 7, 2013 at 611 Industrial Drive, Iron Mountain, 49801 to highlight how
small businesses are taking advantage of SBA programs.

The company received an SBA guaranteed loan of $1,050,000 from the State Bank
of Florence to purchase new equipment and grow the company. The acquisition
will allow this 100% woman owned business to retain 26 full time and 3 part
time employees and create significant economic impact in the region.

Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center Senior Business
Consultant Jim Beauchamp provided substantial management assistance to Candy
Lauk, President and Owner, with whom she credits in saving the business during
the recession. The SBTDC is an SBA funded program.

The press conference is part of the "Countdown to 83 – Helping Small Business
Succeed…One County at a Time" campaign undertaken by the SBA's Michigan
District Office. SBA District Director Gerald Moore has visited 73 counties
since his appointment in 2011. His visit to Dickinson County marks the start
of the campaign and is the 74^th county on his tour of the state.
