CLEVELAND -- May 3, 2013

For the third consecutive year (twelve consecutive calendar quarters),
hospital users have rated Hitachi Medical Systems #1 MR vendor according to
the Q1 2013 MD Buyline User Satisfaction Ratings Report™. In addition to
achieving the highest composite score for twelve consecutive quarters, Hitachi
MRI scanners also achieved the highest score in each of the six individual MD
Buyline categories in the Q1 2013 report.

“In today’s highly competitive environment, providing high quality, reliable
products and value-added services to the customer is more important than ever.
These ratings reflect Hitachi’s ongoing key commitments - which are to bring
only the most reliable products to market and provide only the highest level
of customer support,” said Sheldon Schaffer, VP and General Manager MRI/CT.

The MD Buyline User Satisfaction report includes user ratings in the following
categories: system performance, system reliability,
installation/implementation, applications training, service response time and
service repair quality. According to this report, users commented that their
loyalty to Hitachi is based on past experience with products, system
performance, reliability, sales and service. Users also commented that Hitachi
MRI systems have many workflow features that offer decreased scan times and
good patient comfort. One user specifically mentioned the Echelon Oval,
Hitachi’s newest high field, 74 cm oval bore 1.5T MR system, and reported the
system to be more efficient with workflow and productivity.
