(New Delhi 02.05.2013) Uninor today announced that it has appointed Mr. Yogesh
Malik as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the operating company with immediate
effect. Sigve Brekke will continue to be responsible for all of Telenor
affairs in India as the Head of Telenor Group's Asian Operations.
"I am very pleased with the appointment of Yogesh as CEO of Uninor. Since he
joined the company as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in 2011, he has played an
instrumental role in establishing Uninor as the most affordable mobile
operator. His focus on operational efficiency and innovations that benefit
the mass market has contributed to making Uninor India's fastest growing
service provider," said Sigve Brekke.
"For me, Uninor is and will always be a challenger. Our successful entry into
the Indian market has provided us with a strong platform for growth, and our
clear ambition for the future is to continue taking market share by being
recognized as the most attractive choice for mobile services in India", said
"I believe that our strong operational focus and continued pursuit of
efficiency within our own organization gives us a competitive advantage that
allows us to further strengthen and develop our commitment of being the most
affordable service provider in India. I look forward to work with a team that
with its "winning every day" attitude and passion for innovation continues to
impress me by beating expectations again and again", said Yogesh Malik. "
Yogesh Malik joined Uninor in 2011. He comes from the position as COO in the
company. In this role he has been responsible for developing a highly
efficient operating model that has made Uninor a preferred choice for
customers in the hypercompetitive Indian market.
He brings with him almost 20 years of extensive telecom experience. He has
previously held executive positions at Telenor Group headquarter in Norway,
and he has served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Telenor Group companies
in Ukraine and Bangladesh. His extensive career in the telecom industry also

temporary, but with all the challenges that we faced, my period in India
became longer than intended. My time here has been both challenging and
rewarding. In Uninor I have had the pleasure of working with committed and
dedicated people with a never give up attitude and a strong focus on winning
new customers every day", said Sigve Brekke. "It is now time for me to
strengthen my focus on further development of Telenor Group's Asian portfolio.
