Berkley Corporation (NYSE: WRB) (the “Company”) announced today that it priced an offering of $350 million aggregate principal amount of 5.625% Subordinated Debentures due 2053 (the “Debentures”). The offering is expected to close on May 2, 2013, subject to customary closing conditions. The Company intends to apply to list the Debentures on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “WRB PR B.” The net proceeds of the offering will be used to repay $250 million aggregate principal amount of the Company’s 6.750% Subordinated Debentures due 2045, with the remainder for general corporate purposes.
