Citi Beefs up Commodities with Key Hires Business Wire LONDON -- April 25, 2013 Citi has made two senior hires in base metals trading and sales, as its renewed investment in the commodities business continues. Rick McIntire will join Citi as global head of base metals sales in mid-July, reporting to global head of sales Jose Cogolludo. He was previously at UBS. Also joining Citi from UBS is Dylan Morgan, who is to be co-head of base metal trading alongside Tom Parkin. Dylan will be starting at Citi in mid-May, reporting to Jason Tudor. These additions to the commodities team in London come hard on the heels of a series of important hires in Houston, all of whom have joined from Deutsche Bank. Andy Zipper will be head of the NYMEX gas desk, and reports directly to Matt Wareing, who heads the Houston office. Hugh Byrd is to be the head of the ERCOT/Texas power desk and also reports to Matt Wareing. Meanwhile, Jeremy Swancoat is joining as head of natural gas fundamental research, and will report to head of fundamental research Deepanshu Pandita. These hires also follow significant additions to the commodities business at the end of 2012, highlighted by the signing of Jose Cogolludo from BNP Paribas as global head of sales – a newly created role. “The major reason why I joined Citi was that it had both an unrivalled global distribution franchise, but also clearly the desire and resources to make the commodities business a global leader. These hires underline the bank’s commitment to our business and intent to connect more effectively our product offer with our client base,” said Cogolludo.
