Jean-Michel Detoc, Managing Director of Ubisoft’s Mobile Game Department, has
recently been confirmed to join Advisory Board of ChinaJoy World Mobile Game
Conference (WMGC) as an honorary advisor. The event will be held at Kerry
Hotel Pudong, Shanghai on July 25-26, 2013.

According to the organizer Howell International Trade Fair Ltd., the
preparatory work is well under way, including topic selection, speaker
invitation and sponsor recruitment.

During his 24-year career, Jean-Michel Detoc strengthened Ubisoft’s market
position in China and Germany and worked across all facets of the video game
industry. In his current position, Jean-Michel is responsible for defining the
company’s overall mobile business strategies, as well as the editorial
content, technological development and commercialization of mobile games in
partnership with Ubisoft's creative teams.

After managing sales for several years at Guillemot Corporation, Jean-Michel
joined Ubisoft in 1997 as Managing Director of the group’s German sales
offices. He later made a brief return to Guillemot Corporation by taking on
the role of Managing Director at the gaming device maker Thrustmaster. Detoc
then became Chief Operating Officer of Ubisoft Shanghai in 2006, supervising
the day-to-day operations of the Ubisoft Shanghai studio. He continued to
broaden his scope further in the role of Area Manager for Asia, strengthening
Ubisoft’s production presence in the region, and identifying potential new
locations for studios. He was closely involved in negotiating the terms for
opening Ubisoft’s studios in Chengdu and Singapore, and also continued to
closely follow the Shanghai studio’s work, adapting Ubisoft’s Chinese business
model for the rapidly growing online market. In 2008 he took on the role of
Financial Controlling Director for Ubisoft’s International Production studios.
Since 2012, under Jean-Michel’s leadership, Ubisoft’s mobile games have got
off to a strong start with Rayman Jungle Run named best iPhone game of
2012.As honorary advisor for the WMGC advisory board, Jean-Michel will be
able to contribute his combined expertise of the mobile market, and his
intricate knowledge of the Chinese and Asian territories.

WMGC 2013 is inviting mobile game developers from home and abroad to jointly
