JACKSONVILLE, Fla., April 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --CSX Corporation (CSX)
announced today that the company was named to DiversityInc's 25 Noteworthy
Companies list, and ranked number one on the list of Top 10 Companies for
Veterans.

DiversityInc recognizes companies with demonstrated commitments to diverse
hiring and business practices. The publication has recognized CSX several
times in the past.

"Our commitment to diversity, inclusion, engagement and equal opportunity
remains strong, and that's evident in our workforce of 32,000 people and their
accomplishments," said Michael J. Ward, CSX chairman, president and chief
executive officer. "Clearly, our future hinges on making sure that we are
properly resourced: that we have the right locomotives, the right rail cars,
the right tracks to the right markets, and most important, the right people
who are up to the challenge."

The faces of CSX from the board room to the crew room reflect increasing
diversity in age, gender, ethnicity, background and physical abilities. The
company is inclusive in its hiring practices as well as in its supplier
relationships, community outreach, management practices and leadership goals.

"On the heels of the demographically revealing 2012 presidential election, it
is clear that U.S. companies are increasingly conscious of the importance of
diversity," said Luke Visconti, CEO of DiversityInc. "We are very encouraged
to see more companies applying for this distinction and embracing diversity
more deeply than ever. We also note a continued positive correlation between
achievement in diversity and overall positive stock performance."

CSX has a longstanding history of promoting inclusion and diversity. Employees
are encouraged to join one of our many diversity and inclusion groups, which
are employee-driven and focus on a shared interest. Nearly one in five
employees is a military veteran and since 2006, G.I. Jobs has recognized CSX
annually as one of the top 50 Military-Friendly Employers. In recent years,
CSX has received other honors from Diversity MBA Magazine, Black MBA Magazine,
the Association of Diversity Councils, CollegeGrad.com, Hispanic Business and
Disability Matters. Additionally, CSX is a charter member of GettingHired.com,
an organization for employers and job applicants designed to help the millions
of Americans living with disabilities secure sustainable employment and
flourish in their careers.

The DiversityInc 25 Noteworthy Companies is the leading assessment of
